Who is Kalinka Hristova?
I studied Tourism (Bachelor of Arts then Master of Arts (summa cum laude)). I am also a post-graduate in Marketing, Advertising and Business Communications. As a translator I specialise in hospitality, tourism & travel and all economy-related studies, as well as some technical areas. My preferred topics are hospitality and hotel management, project management, operations management, real estate, investments and consultancy, quality standards, etc. Special fields of interest: oenology, food & cuisine; speleology (caves), climbing, everything and anything related to these topics. My years of experience (work and studies) have provided a wide range of knowledge and experience which I put to good use when translating, editing and proofreading texts from English, Spanish and French into Bulgarian. I am also a certified tour guide.
I hold C2 level certificates in English and Spanish: Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English and DELE Superior, and C1 level certificate in French: DALF C1.
I deliver quality translations based on my own professional standards. I only accept assignments for which I have the required knowledge and capacities. What is more, I believe in continuous professional development: both linguistically and professionally. I invest a significant amount of time, effort and resources in CPD. I decline assignments which fall outside my fields of competence and interests, as well as projects which do not allow me to carry out the required research to provide high quality translations. I take pride in my work and my rates reflect the time it takes to produce quality translations.
Why me? I am passionate about my work, I care about what I do and about the people I work with. I am a fast learner and I am eager to learn. And most importantly, because I do not want to be the best available option: I simply want to be better than expected, better than most, better than before, in short, I strive to contribute as much as possible, always…
